Desk phones can obtain the provisioning server address by detecting DHCP options during

Start up.

If you are using the IPv4 network, the phone will automatically detect the option 128, option 66 and option

43 for obtaining the provisioning server address.

 

To configure the DHCP option via the web page:

1.Configure the DHCP option.

2.Enable DHCP option to Override Server.

The Phone will obtain the provisioning server address from the DHCP Option.

3.Click Saveset to save the change.

During start up, the phone will broadcast DHCP request with DHCP options for obtaining the

provisioning server address. The provisioning server address will be found in the received

DHCP response message.

After the IP phone obtains the provisioning server address from the DHCP server, it will connect

to the provisioning server and perform auto provisioning during start up.

The following figure shows the example messages of obtaining the server address from

DHCP option 66:
