This section introduces SEVEN ways of making IP devices connect to HDMS depends on TWO scenarios.

Scenario A

If the default P value of HDMS in the configuration file of a device is set in advance, it will connect to HDMS automatically after powering up. You just need to upload the info of devices in HDMS, follow the steps below.

In Device Management -> Device List, the Status shows the connection between the device and HDMS. Offline means the device is disconnected. Unregistered or registered Registered means the device is connected.

Scenario B

If the default P value of HDMS in the configuration file of a device is not set in advance, a device has to request and get a configuration file, which contains the parameters of HDMS, from a server. You have SIX options.

You may need to upload the model of a device if it does not exist in Device Management -> Device Model. You MUST assign the devices to a site when deploying them in HDMS.

Procedure

1. On the home page of HDMS, click Config Management -> Site Configuration -> +Add -> Fill in Name, and choose (Required). Choose a site where the device you want to deploy -> Confirm. Then a site configuration template will be created in the list.

2. Choose a the site template you have created and click  to update parameters in of it.

3. On the Update page, Click Management -> Auto Provision. Roll down the page. Make sure the parameters of DMS is set like the figure below. Click Confirm to save the changes in the template. Then Click Cancel.

4. Click Device Management -> Device List -> +Add,fill all the information needed based on the device. The choice of Sync RPS is Yes. Choose a site. Leave RPS Cfg Url blank. Click Confirm.

Info

It is up to you whether you fill in the info of to choose a site, profiles and accounts. You can set a unique PIN for an account for auto provisioning. To find the PIN of an account, click Account Management → Account → choose an account in the list → click Image Added. On the Update page, you can set a PIN (unique) for the account. Image Added Each site has a unique ID called Site ID or UID, you can find it in System Management → Site Management. You can download a template to upload a bunch of information of devices as well on Device List Page. Check this SECTION for more info.

5. Power up the device/ Reboot the device/ Click Auto Provisioning Now on the device’s web page.

• 0: Do not choose one when adding a device in the list.

• 1: Do choose one when adding a device in the list.

• AP: Auto Provisioning.
