Htek Device Management System Quick Start Guide

1. Overview

Htek Device Management System provides an effective way for users to deploy and manage Htek IP phones.

In this document, you play a role as a company user to deploy and manage Htek IP phones.

For more information about role, please check role section in .

The steps of connecting devices to HDMS are involved in section 3、4 and 5. After connections are established, the steps of configuring and managing devices are contained in section 6.

  • Open a web browser.

  • Enter https://<IP address>/ (for example: https://10.2.8.66/), which is the IP address of HDMS, in the address box.

  • Enter your username and the password and click Login.

3. Adding Device Models

The first thing you need to do is to upload the device models. On the left navigate bar,

click Device Management -> Device Model -> Add. On the popup page, fill in the Device Model field and upload the device model files compressed in a zip file.

e.g. You want to add a device model called UC924W. Firsrt, you should download and unzip UC9xx_mode_tempates.zip from the above link. Then UC924W.zip is included in the unzip file. Finally, UC924W.zip can be used in the below figure.

4. Adding Devices

Upon you have uploaded a device model, you can add devices of this particular model to connect to HDMS.

On the left navigate bar, click Device ManagementDevice ListAdd. On the popup page, fill in the necessary information:

  • Device Name: A unique name as you want.

  • Device Model: Choose the corresponding device model.

  • MAC: The MAC address of the device.

To add multiple devices at once, you can fill them in an Excel file and import it.

On the Device List page, click Download Template and fill information in the Device Name, Device Model and MAC field in the file. Then import it into HDMS.

5. Connecting Devices to HDMS

To make conntections between devices and HDMS, you need to change values in Configuration File of devices first.

There are two parameters, called P values, related with HDMS feature in Configuration File of IP phones:

  • P5007 - DMS Service Enable: set it to “1” if you want to enable this feature, otherwise set it to “0”.

  • P5008 - DMS Service URL: configure the DMS service URL, like https://hdms.com/api/init. If you do not know it, please contact your provider.

Auto Provisioning

These two parameters can be provisioned through auto provisioning methods like DHCP Option 66 or RPS Service.

Connecting Devices to HDMS Manually

Meanwhile, you can find these two parameters on an IP phone’s webpage. First, log into an IP phone’s wenpage. Then Click ManagementAuto Provision on the web page. Now you can configure this feature manually. Click Yes -> Fill url in HDMS Service Url.

6. Configuring Devices

In this section, you will know how to manage the configurations of devices by HDMS. The section are devided into two parts —— SIP account part and the other settings part.

SIP Account Part

The contents of SIP account part on HDMS are the same as on the IP phone’s web page.

 

 

Generally, an IP phone needs to register an account or an extension in the SIP server to make/receive calls.

In HDMS SIP account part, Profile Management contains information of SIP servers. And Account Management contains information of accounts.

Firstly, you need create a Profile Group, which can be used to organize the information of SIP servers (profiles). For example, there are several customers, who use separate hosted SIP servers. You can create a number of profile groups as you need to divide the SIP servers.

After you have a Profile Group - Profile, you can continue to add Account and bind Account and Profile.

Other Settings Part

Other settings part contains Network, Function Keys, Settings, Directory and Management parameters of devices. You can configure these parameters on an IP phone’s web page or on HDMS.

 

 

  • Model Configuration: Manage configurations, according to device models.

  • Group Configuration: Manage configurations, according to device groups you have created.

  • Site Configuration: Manage configurations, according to a site that a device belongs to.

  • Mac Configuration: Manage configurations, according to devices' MAC addresses.

For example, you want to push a configuration file to IP phones by their models. Do the steps in the below figures.

Enter Config Params to configure the parameters.

You can click Comfirm -> Confirm to update the configurations to the devices now.

Pushing Configrations to the IP Phones

When you ready to push the configurations to the devices, click Push Config button.

Then, choose the devices you want to update and click Push to Update.

On the next popup page, choose At Once as this is a onetime update or set a timing to want.
